In the role of a Therapeutic Youth Worker, you will offer hands-on assistance, nurturing, and guidance to individuals between the ages of 12 and 17 living in our Therapeutic Care homes within the Orange region. The children and young people under our care have faced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect, and some may have mental health, physical, or psychosocial disabilities.
Success in this position requires resilience, adaptability to dynamic situations, and a firm commitment to advocating for the well-being of the young individuals you will be supporting. Opportunities are currently open for casual positions, with Permanent Part Time positions that may also become available.

Skills & Experience
- Possess a relevant Diploma or bachelor’s degree level qualification OR
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and have relevant work history related to role OR
- Have relevant work history and are already completing a relevant Diploma or bachelor’s degree qualification.
- Experience supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma, have a disability and/or exhibit pain based behaviours of concern (ideally within a residential care setting)
- A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011) & CPR (HLTAID001 or HLTAID009) Certificate/s or willingness to obtain
- A current Drivers Licence
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exemption certificate. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
